An international service program that saves the lives of children around the world.

GOL is a ROTARY program which started 25 years ago by a ROTARY District Long Island, NY. Now a nation wide program run independently by many District, including ours.

The District 6560 began in 1999 in which DG Bill Hatfield appointed Dr. Bing Pratt as Chairperson.

• Dr.Bing Pratt, and others, met with doctors and administration at the Riley Hospital for Children. He incurred a financial arrangement to assist in the saving a child’s life A similar arrangement with made with the Children’s heart center at St. Vincent Hospital.
• An arrangement was also made with the Ronald McDonald House before and after surgery.
• The GOL program is approaching its 8th year of operation. THANKS BING!!
• Tony Campbell,, announced 8 days ago their Greenfield Club raised a net of $32,600. This money came from February 2005 auctions. The Greenfiled club is a major-major donor to GOL.
• Major Foley, a native of McCordsville, IN. assigned to a IN NG Medical Support Base in Afghanistan, accompanied Qudrat and father to Indianapolis last week. Her report to the Greenfield Club on March 3rd stated the Afgans have high survivor skills and believes Qudrat’s life will be safely returned to Afghanistan.

Rotary District 6560 has saved over 60 lives.

They come here from Russia, Bosnia, China, Guatemala, Haiti, Pakistan, Honduras, Nigeria, Kosovo, Cambia, Jamaica, and two now from El Salvador. A 14 month old Titus Glick, from El Salvador, was operated here on March 3rd. A 14 year old will soon arrive for major surgery. Every Indiana child is eligible for care at Riley. So Rotary is committed to locate children around the world who’s lives are in grave danger because of a physical defect.

A Rotary Club on Long Island now raised $1 million a year to finance surgery for 150 children a year. They also send 2 medical teams overseas every year. Some day District 6560 will do the same, or better.

GOALS FOR 2005 - 2006

1. Save the lives of 10 children for 2005-06 Rotary year.
2. Raise $50,000 to save 10 more lives for the next Rotary year.
