Ball State Rotaract Club starts strong

Three handicapped Mexican citizens will soon have wheelchairs, thanks to members of a Rotaract club being formed at Ball State University. A total of $235, enough to sponsor three wheelchairs was raised by the Rotaract members through a fundraiser at the local Fazolis restaurant on December 6.           The club, composed of nine Ball State undergraduates, is led by former Rotary Youth Exchange participant Logan Parmele, architecture major from Rensselaer, Indiana. Two other Rotaracters, Andrea Girt and Valerie Brock, were Interact members while attending high school in Anderson, Indiana. When membership reaches fifteen, the club will apply for formal recognition through Rotary International

"We were proud to have 100% of our members take part in the December 6 fundraiser" said Parmele. The club meets alternate Tuesday evenings at on the Ball State campus.
